Egger Philips + Partner - Verhandlungsberater nach dem Harvard-Konzept
Harvard Negotiation Project
The Harvard Negotiation Project is a research project at Harvard University that works on negotiation problems and develops and disseminates improved methods of negotiation and mediation.  It is part of the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School, a consortium of scholars and projects from Harvard, MIT, Simmons, and Tufts working to improve the theory and practice of conflict resolution.  The Project’s activities are elucidated at www.pon.harvard.edu/hnp and include:

Theory building

The Project has helped develop such ideas as the one-text mediation procedure used by the United States in the Middle East peace negotiations at Camp David in September 1978, the method of principled negotiation described in „Getting to Yes“, and the core concerns framework outlined in this book.  The Project’s newest research branch is the Harvard International Negotiation Initiative, which is based at the Harvard Negotiation Project and affiliated with the psychiatry department at Harvard Medical School.  Its mission is to enhance international security and individual well-being through theory-building and education on the emotional dimension of conflict and negotiation.  See www.beyond-reason.net/ini for more information.

Education and training

The Project develops programs for professionals (lawyers, businesspeople, diplomats, journalists, government officials, union leaders, military officers, and others) as well as for graduate and undergraduate students and school-aged children.  For those interested in teaching the ideas of Beyond Reason, we provide free resources at www.beyond-reason.net.  The Project also offers executive education programs.  Interested persons can find information at the website of the Program on Negotiation (www.pon.harvard.edu) and the Beyond Reason website (www.beyond-reason.net).

Publications

The Project prepares practical materials, checklists for negotiators, case studies, negotiation exercises, teachers’ guides, and forms designed to be of use to practitioners, teachers, and students.  For a „core concerns preparation chart“, visit the Beyond Reason website (www.beyond-reason.net).

Action Research

Participants in ongoing conflicts of public concern are sometimes invited to the Project so that Project members may learn more about the negotiation process and participants in the conflict may benefit from professional advice.

European Trainings
In Europe, Egger, Philips, and Partners of Zurich offer educational programs based on Negotiation Project ideas and pedagogy. They are the only European firm officially licensed and sanctioned by the Negotiation Project to do so, and the only such firm that maintains an active and ongoing relationship with the Project, including access to its latest work.
